2021 TURKEY TROT HELD AT THE MIDDLE SCHOOL THIS PAST SUNDAY

The 2021 CROP Walk/Turkey Trot run was a limited affair held outside in the Middle School parking lot with approximately 100 participants and runners/walkers participating informally with limited turkeys and pumpkin pies given out randomly at the end.

THE BEST TIME PREDICTORS FOR THE 2021 PACE RACE SEASON

The best time predictors for the 2021 Atomic City Road Runners Club race season (the top 5 predictors are recognized from their 10 best run predictions where the delta time totals added up to the lowest amount in seconds as compared with the other Club members utilizing the same format. Delta time being the difference in seconds between the participant's stated predicted time for a run and the actual recorded time for that run. The winners were awarded cash prizes):

NOLEN IS BEST PREDICTOR IN FINAL WEEKLY PACE RACE OF THE SEASON

Jacqueline Nolen was the top predictor in the final pace race of the 2021 season at 2 seconds off her predicted time which was held on the Canyon Rim Trail. Other accurate predictors were: Roxana Candia and Cara Gattiker tied with a 3 second difference; Janette Darlington had a 4 second differential; Lynn Bjorklund was 5 seconds off as well as the first female finisher on the 3 mile course recording a 22:55; and Katie Gattiker was 12 seconds off.

10 year old Adrian Medin was the top finisher in the 1 mile distance at 7:08 and 12 year old Anna Ferenbaugh came in with a time of 10:30 for best female finisher.

On the 3 mile course Ryan Smeltzer was the best finisher at 21:29.

The Club hopes all the participants had an enjoyable 47th pace race season and look forward to the 2022 season which is tentatively scheduled to start on the 1st Tuesday of April, 2022 (April 5th) at the Canyon Rim Trail.

MICHEL IS BEST PREDICTOR IN WEEKLY PACE RACE

(9-28-2021)

Chris Michel was the top predictor at 3 seconds off his predicted time in the weekly pace race held at Pinon (Rocket) Park in White Rock. Other accurate predictors were: Steve Daly at 15 seconds off, 12 year old Anna Ferenbaugh with a 24 second differential as well as the top finisher in the 1 mile race with a time of 10:53, Mark Bjorklund recording a 38 second difference and was also the best finisher on the 3 mile course at 22:52, and Teddy Atkins, Junior at 53 seconds off.

10 year old Robbie Ferenbaugh was the first male finisher on the 1 mile course with a time of 11:13.

In the 3 mile race Priscila Rosa recorded a 24:17 for top female finisher.

Next week's race will be held on Tuesday, October 5th, 2021 at 6:00 PM and will be the final pace race for the 2021 season. It will start at the back end of the Canyon Rim Trail located behind McDonald's, next to Knecht's Automotive and in line with the Smith's parking lot. 1 and 3 mile paved courses will be available.

BJORKLUND IS TOP PREDICTOR IN WEEKLY PACE RACE

(9-21-2021))

Mark Bjorklund was the best predictor at 2 seconds off his predicted time in the weekly pace race held at the junction of North Mesa and Barranca Mesa off North Mesa Road. Other accurate predictors were: 11 year old Anders Medin at 9 seconds off, Denise Robertson with a 21 second differential, 12 year old Billy Strother recording a 30 second difference, and 10 year old Adrian Medin with a 39 second difference as well as the first finisher in the 1 mile distance at 7:32.

12 year old Anna Ferenbaugh was the best female finisher on the 1 mile course with a time of 11:17.

On the 3 mile course Zach Medin was the top finisher recording a 24:01 and Priscila Rosa was the first female finisher at 26:02.

Next week's race will be on Tuesday, September 28th, 2021 at 6:00 PM and will be held at Pinon Park (Rocket Park) on Sherwood Boulevard in White Rock across from Smith's on the paved path adjacent to State Route # 4. 1 and 3 mile paved courses will be available.

ROJAS HAS PERFECT PREDICTION IN WEEKLY PACE RACE

(9-14-2021)

Aurea Rojas had a perfect prediction for her 33:00 time in the weekly pace race held on the Aquatic Center Trail. Other accurate predictors were: Zach Medin with a 3 second differential; Ted Atkins, Senior at 6 seconds off; Roxana Candia with a 21 second difference; and Felix Candia at 24 seconds off.

In the 1 mile paved course 10 year old Adrian Medin was the best finisher recording a 7:09 and the first female finisher was 12 year old Anna Ferenbaugh at 10:11.

11 year old Logan Nolan had 10:44 for top finisher on the 1 mile trail distance and Denise Robertson was the best female finisher recording a 15:22.

On the 5K trail run Matthew Kerr had a time of 23:45 for first place and Priscila Rosa was the top female with a 30:46.

Next week's race will be on Tuesday, September 21st, 2021 at 6:00 PM and will be held just past the traffic circle at the junction of North Mesa and Barranca Mesa heading North on North Mesa Road and immediately turning left into the parking area. 1 mile paved and 3 mile trail runs will be available.

FERENBAUGH IS TOP PREDICTOR IN WEEKLY PACE RACE

(9-7-2021)

Charles Ferenbaugh was the best predictor in the weekly pace race held on the Power Line Trail on State Route # 4 with a 3 second differential off his predicted time. Other accurate predictors were: 10 year old Robbie Ferenbaugh at 93 seconds off; Ted Atkins, Senior with 132 second difference; Sean Thomas recorded a 153 second difference; and Priscila Rosa with a 158 second differential as well as the top finisher on the 3 mile course recording a 27:42.

In the 1 mile race 11 year old Logan Nolan was the first finisher at 9:05 and 12 year old Anna Ferenbaugh was the best female with a time of 11:15.

Teddy Atkins, Junior was the best male finisher on the 3 mile course recording a 30:00.

Next week's race will be held on Tuesday, September 14th, 2021 at 6:00 PM on the Aquatic Center Trail just behind the Aquatic Center in the parking lot on Canyon Road at the junction of Central Avenue. 1 mile paved and 1 and 3.1 mile trail runs will be available.

ROJAS IS BEST PREDICTOR IN WEEKLY PACE RACE

Aurea Rojas was the top predictor in the weekly pace held on Range Road by the Guaje Pines Cemetery. She was 7 seconds off her predicted time. Other accurate predictors were: Matthew Kerr with a 9 second differential as well as the fastest finisher on the 3 mile trail course at 22:58; Felix Candia at 15 seconds off and the best finisher on the 3 mile paved course with a time of 34:45; Cliff Stanley with a 33 second difference; and Priscila Rosa at 36 seconds off and also the top female finisher on the 3 mile trail distance recording a 29:51.

10 year old Adrian Medin was the best finisher on the 1 mile course at 7:39 and 12 year old Anna Ferenbaugh was the first female with a time of 9:34.

Next week's race will be held on Tuesday, September 7th, 2021 at 6:00 PM on the Power Line Trail which located approximately 3.1 miles from the junction of Pajarito Road and State Route # 4 in White Rock and heading West on State Route # 4 toward the Bandelier National Monument entrance on the left OR approximately 10.1 miles after taking a left from the junction of West Jemez Road (State Route # 501) and State Route # 4 (The Back Gate) and heading East on State Route # 4 past Bandelier National Monument entrance on the right. 1 and 3 mile trail runs will be available.

McCLELLAN IS TOP PREDICTOR IN WEEKLY PACE RACE

(8-24-2021)

Laura McClellan was the best predictor in the weekly pace race held on the Burnt Mesa Trail in Bandelier National Monument at 1 second off her predicted time and she was also the first female finisher on the 3 mile course at 29:14. Other accurate predictors were: 10 year old Adrian Medin with a 3 second differential; Ryan Smeltzer recorded a 16 second difference; 10 year old Robbie Ferenbaugh came in at 21 seconds off; and Ted Williams had a 23 second differential.

In the 1 mile distance Priscila Rosa was the best finisher with a time of 8:53 and 11 year old Anders Medin was the first male at 9:45.

Matthew Kerr was the top finisher on the 3 mile course recording a 22:18.

Next week's race will be held on Tuesday, August 31st, 2021 at 6:00 PM starting in front of the entrance of the Guaje Pines Cemetery on Range Road which is the left just past the fire station heading North on Diamond Drive and is approximately one half mile on the right. 1 mile paved and 3 mile trail races will be available.

FERENBAUGH IS BEST PREDICTOR IN WEEKLY PACE RACE

(8-17-2021)

10 year old Robbie Ferenbaugh was the top predictor in the weekly pace at 3 seconds off his predicted time as well as the first male finisher on the 1 mile paved course with a time of 10:29 on the Deer Trap Trail run held on Barranca Mesa. Other accurate predictors were: Priscila Rosa at a 5 second difference; 12 year old Anna Ferenbaugh with a 9 second differential and the top finisher in the 1 mile paved run at 10:23; Tony Borek at 10 seconds off; and Felix Candia with a 38 second differential.

In the 2 mile trail run 10 year old Adrian Medin was the best finisher with a time of 20:09. Roxana Candia recorded a 21:28 for first female finisher.

Mark Bjorklund had a time of 31:50 for top finisher on 3.6 mile trail distance and Lynn Bjorklund was the first female finisher at 35:05.

Next week's race will be held on the Burnt Mesa Trail in Bandelier National Monument which is located approximately 1.9 miles on the right heading East on State Route # 4 after turning left at the junction of State Route # 501 (West Jemez Road) and State Route # 4 (The Back Gate). 1 and 3 mile trail runs will be available.

NEWNAM IS TOP PREDICTOR IN WEEKLY PACE RACE

Brian Newnam was the best predictor at 3 seconds off his predicted time in the weekly pace race held at Dinosaur Park on Barranca Mesa. Other accurate predictors were: Mark Bjorklund with a 9 second differential; Matthew Kerr at 15 seconds off as well as the best finisher in the 3 mile distance with a time of 20:15; Elizabeth Atkins with a 21 second difference; and Lynn Bjorklund at 16 seconds off and the top female finisher on the 3 mile course recording a 23:33.

On the 1 mile course 12 year old William Strother was first at 7:47 and 12 year old Anna Ferenbaugh was the best female with a time of 9:52.

Next week's race will be held on Tuesday, August 17th, 2021 at 6:00 PM on the Deer Trap Trail starting at the junction of Barranca Road and Navajo Road on Barranca Mesa. 1 mile paved and 2 mile and 3.6 mile trail courses will be available.

12 year old Anna Ferenbaugh was the top predictor in the weekly pace race held at East Park with a 6 second differential off her predicted time as well as the first female finisher in the 1 mile distance at 10:43. Other accurate predictors were: Lynn Bjorklund at 14 seconds off and the best female finisher on the 3 mile course recording a 24:01; 12 year old William Strother and Zach Medin tied with a 18 second difference; 11 year old Anders Medin was 21 seconds off ; and Wes Even had a 30 second differential.

10 year old Adrian Medin was the top finisher in the 1 mile distance with a time of 7:32.

Giacomo Capodaglio was the best finisher on the 3 mile course at 22:37.

10 year old Robbie Ferenbaugh was the top predictor in the weekly pace race with a 15 second differential off his predicted time held on West Jemez Road featuring 1 and 3 mile trail and paved races. Other accurate predictors were: 12 year old Anna Ferenbaugh at 21 seconds off as well as the first female finisher in the 1 mile trail race with a time of 11:38; Sanna Sevanto with a 31 second difference and the top female finisher in the the 3 mile trail race recording a 29:01; Priscila Rosa at 39 seconds off; and Felix Candia with a 45 second differential.

10 year old Adrian Medin was the best finisher in the 1 mile paved race at 8:18 and Denise Robertson was the first female finisher recording a 12:44.

In the 3 mile paved distance Roxana Candia was first at 22:34 and Zach Medin had a time of 22:35 for top male finisher.

12 year old William Strother was the top finisher in the 1 mile trail distance at 10:26.

In the 3 mile trail race Matthew Kerr came out on top recording a 24:12.

ROSA IS TOP PREDICTOR IN WEEKLY PACE RACE

Priscila Rosa was the best predictor at 16 seconds off as well as the first female finisher with a time of 34:44 in the 3 mile distance in the weekly pace held in the Quemazon Complex after a major thunderstorm. Other accurate predictors were: Erofili Kardoulaki with a 27 second differential; Laura McClellan at 47 seconds off; Jan Velechovsky with a 103 second difference and the top finisher in the 3 mile race at 34:43; and Chris Michel at 123 seconds off.

In the 1 mile race Teddy Atkins was the best finisher recording a 10:46 and 10 year old Anna Ferenbaugh was the top female at 11:26.

Next week's race will be held on Tuesday, July 27th, 2021 at 6:00 PM right off West Jemez Road (State Route # 501) across from the Laboratory "S" Site just past the two water tanks. 1 mile paved and trail runs and 3 mile paved and trail runs will be available.

FERENBAUGH HAS PERFECT PREDICTION IN WEEKLY PACE RACE

Charles Ferenbaugh had a perfect prediction in the weekly pace race held on the Canada Bonito Trail by the ski hill with a indicated time of 39:45. Other accurate predictors were: Sonja Behnke at 6 seconds off and also the first female finisher on the 1 mile trail run at 20:02; Sean Thomas with a 12 second differential; Evgenya Simakov at a 27 second difference; and Matthew Kerr at 37 seconds off and the best finisher in the 3 mile distance with a time of 21:53.

On the 1 mile paved course 10 year old Adrian Medin was the top finisher at 8:13 and Jackie Marr was the best female recording a 19:05.

Chris Michel was the first finisher on the 1 mile trail course at 11:55.

On the 3 mile course Laura McClellan had a 28:09 for top female.

Next week's race will be held on July 20th, 2021 at 6:00 PM and will be held in the Quemazon Development which is the first left off North Road after taking a left onto to North Road from Diamond Drive then taking first right onto Esperanza Road in the Development starting at the Montessori School. 1 mile paved and 3 mile hybrid courses will be available.

RINALDI IS TOP PREDICTOR IN WEEKLY PACE RACE

Jackilyn Rinaldi was the best predictor in the weekly pace race held at Pinon (Rocket) Park in White Rock with a 6 second differential off her predicted time. Other accurate predictors were: 11 year old Cara Gattiker at 12 seconds off; 10 year old Adrian Medin at 21 seconds off his predicted time and also the best finisher in the 1 mile distance at 7:37; Beth Davenport with a 24 second differential; and and Aurea Rojas at 45 seconds off.

On the 1 mile course 14 year old Libby Nolen was the best female finisher recording a 9:04.

Nikol Strother was the top finisher on the 3 mile course at 21:04 and the best male finisher was Ryan Smeltzer with a time of 22:12.

WILLIAMS IS BEST PREDICTOR IN WEEKLY PACE RACE

Ted Williams was the top predictor in the weekly pace race in Rendija Canyon with a 3 second differential off his predicted time. Other accurate predictors were: 10 year old Robbie Ferenbaugh at 6 seconds off; Roxana Candia with a 16 second difference and was also the first female finisher in the 5K distance at 29:42; Zach Medin recording a 17 second differential; and Laura McClellan at 25 seconds off.

On the 1 mile course 10 year old Adrian Medin was the best finisher with a time of 8:06 and 12 year old Anna Ferenbaugh was the top female at 10:15.

Matthew Kerr was the first finisher on the 5K course recording a 23:17.

ROSA IS TOP PREDICTOR IN WEEKLY PACE RACE

(6-22-2021)

Priscila Rosa was the best predictor in the weekly pace race held on American Springs Road up in the Jemez with difference of 2 seconds off her predicted time. Other accurate predictors were: Mark Bjorklund at 8 seconds off; Matthew Kerr with an 18 second differential and was also the first place finisher on the 3 mile course at 21:42; Nikol Strother at 19 seconds off; and Ryan Smeltzer recording a 21 second difference.

12 year old William Strother was the best finisher on the 1 mile course with a time of 8:57 and the first female finisher was 12 year old Anna Ferenbaugh at 11:16.

The top female on the 3 mile course was 13 year old Savanna Strother recording a time of 24:38.

Next week's race will be held on Tuesday, June 29th, 2021 at 6:00 PM in Rendija Canyon out on Barranca Mesa. Head out to Barranca Mesa and take San Ildefonso Road to the curve by the playground and take a left and go down into Rendija Canyon approximately 3 miles from that turn past the Sportsman's Club to the small parking lot on the left. 1 and 3 mile gravel courses will be available.

TRUJILLO-RONDEAU AND MICHEL TIE FOR BEST PREDICTOR IN WEEKLY PACE RACE

(6-15-2021)

Jeanette Trujillo-Rondeau and Chris Michel tied for top predictor with a 3 second differential in the weekly pace race held on the golf course maintenance road on North Mesa. Other accurate predictors were: Zach Medin at 7 seconds off; Janette Darlington recording a 9 second difference; Mark Bjorklund at 21 seconds off; and Tamara Jurado with a 24 second differential.

10 year old Levi Gibson was the best finisher on the 1 mile course at 6:33 and the first female was 12 year old Anna Ferenbaugh recording a 10:10.

In the 5K distance Travis Gibson was top finisher with a time of 21:00 and Lynn Bjorklund was the best female finisher at 27:25.

Next week's race will be held on Tuesday, June 22nd, 2021 at 6:00 PM at American Springs Road which is approximately 1.4 miles up in the Jemez on the right side on State Route # 4 West after taking a right at the junction of State Route #4 and State Route # 501 (West Jemez Road) (The Back Gate). 1 and 3 mile gravel courses will be available.

STROTHER AND NEWNAM TIE FOR BEST PREDICTOR IN WEEKLY PACE RACE

(6-8-2021)

12 year old Billy Strother and Brian Newnam tied for most accurate predictor with a 15 second differential in the weekly pace race held on the Canada de Buey Trail in White Rock. Other accurate predictors were: there were four participants tied with a 18 second difference; 11 year old Robbie Ferenbaugh, Sean Thomas, Priscila Rosa, and Travis Gibson who was also the top finisher on the 3 mile course with a time of 19:08; 9 year old Luke Gibson came in at 27 seconds off his predicted time; 2 year old Athena Darlington was 42 seconds off; and 11 year old Diego Leonard had a 48 second error.

On the 1 mile course 10 year old Levi Gibson was the best finisher recording a 6:44 and his mother Lindsay Gibson was the best female at 10:00.

13 year old Savanna Strother had a time of 23:04 for first female finisher on the 3 mile course.

Next week's race will be held on Tuesday, June 15th, 2021 at 6:00 PM starting on the golf course maintenance road which is located just off San Ildefonso Road on North Mesa on the immediate right after taking a right turn from the traffic circle at the end of Diamond Drive. 1 mile trail and 3 mile hybrid courses will be available.

ORTIZ AND ORTIZ-ACOSTA TIE FOR BEST PREDICTOR IN WEEKLY RACE

(6-1-2021)

6 year old Sean Ortiz and his mother Denisse Ortiz-Acosta tied for top predictor at 6 seconds off in the weekly pace race that started from Fireman's Park at the corner of 45th Street and Arizona Avenue. Other accurate predictors were: Mark Bjorklund with a 18 second differential; Matthew Kerr at 21 seconds off; Charles Ferenbaugh with a difference of 27 seconds; and another tie of 33 seconds off from 12 year old Anna Ferenbaugh and 9 year old Luke Gibson.

10 year old Levi Gibson was the best finisher in the 1 mile course at 6:43 and the first female was 10 year old Ajla Bock recording a 8:02.

On the 3 mile course Travis Gibson was the top finisher with a time of 21:55 and Nikol Strother recorded a 28:16 for best female.

Next week's race will be held on Tuesday, June 8th, 2021 at 6:00 PM in White Rock on the Canada del Buey Trail starting at the Chamisa Elementary School on Meadow Lane. 1 and 3 mile courses will be available on a hard packed dirt surface.

STROTHER IS TOP PREDICTOR IN WEEKLY PACE RACE

Nikol Strother was the best predictor in the weekly pace race held on the service road in Bayo Canyon at the bottom of Main Hill Road with a 6 second differential off her predicted time. Other accurate predictors were: four participants tied for second with a 9 second difference; Kathy Daly, Tamara Jurado, Jan Velechovsky, and 10 year old Ajla Bock who was also the first female finisher in the 1 mile course at 8:57. Lynn Bjorklund was 13 seconds off, 10 year old Levi Gibson recorded a 27 second differential and was the best finisher on the 1 mile course with a time of 6:54, and Anders Medin was 30 seconds off his predicted time.

On the 3 mile course the top finisher was Travis Gibson recording a 20:04 and the first female finisher was 13 year old Savannah Strother at 22:04.

GIBSON HAS PERFECT PREDICTION IN WEEKLY PACE RACE

(5-18-2021)

9 year old Luke Gibson had a perfect prediction in the weekly pace race held out on North Mesa on the trail by the Rodeo Arena with a 6:30 time. Other accurate predictors were: Nikol Strother indicating a 1 second difference as well as being the first female finisher in the 3 mile distance recording a 23:59; Aurea Rojas with a 3 second differential; Anna Teterovskay at 9 seconds off; and Lindsay Gibson at 18 seconds off her predicted time.

In the 1 mile race 10 year old Levi Gibson was the top finisher at 6:28 with 13 year old Savanna Strother right behind at 6:29 for the first female finisher.

Matthew Kerr was the best finisher on the 3 mile course recording a 18:33.

Next week's race will be on Tuesday, Mary 25th, 2021 at 6:00 PM and will be held at the beginning of the road in Ancho Canyon that goes to the pollution control plant at the bottom of Main Hill Road (State Route # 502). 1 and 3 mile paved courses will be available.

HOVDE IS TOP PREDICTOR IN OPENING RACE OF ROAD RUNNERS 47th SEASON

Blake Hovde was the best predictor in the opening race of the Road Runners 47th season held on the back end of the Canyon Rim Trail by Smith's Marketplace. He was 9 seconds off his predicted time. Other accurate predictors were: Lane Cleveland and Roxana Candia tied with a 21 second differential; Zach Medin at 22 seconds off; Ted Atkins, Sr. recording a 24 second difference; and Zeke Wilmot indicating 30 seconds off.

On the 1 mile course 13 year old Savanna Strother was the top finisher with a time of 6:06. 10 year old Levi Gibson was the best male finisher recording a 6:25.

Travis Gibson finished first on the 3 mile course at 20:01. The top female finisher was Nikol Strother with time of 22:58.

Next week's race is on Tuesday, May18th, 2021 at 6:00 PM and will be held on North Mesa just North (left) of the Brewer Rodeo Arena grounds which is at the end of the horse stables access road. 1 and 3 mile courses will be available.
