2016 CROP WALK/TURKEY TROT HELD AT THE MIDDLE SCHOOL THIS PAST SUNDAY

(11-20-2016)

Approximately 170 participants ran/walked either the CROP/Turkey Trot 2.57 mile or 1.7 mile shortened variation of the longer course on Sunday, the 20th of November, 2016. Turkeys and pumpkin pies were awarded via random drawing after the run/walk. All donations collected will be utilized by the CROP and LA Cares charitable organizations to help the needy.

THE BEST TIME PREDICTORS FOR THE 2016 PACE RACE SEASON

The best time predictors for the 2016 Atomic City Road Runners Club race season (the top 5 predictors are recognized from their 10 best run predictions where the delta time totals added up to the lowest amount in seconds as compared with all other Club members utilizing the same format. Delta time being the difference in seconds between the participant's stated predicted time for a run and the actual recorded time for that run. The winners were awarded cash prizes):

McCLELLAN IS TOP PREDICTOR IN FINAL PACE RACE OF SEASON

Laura McClellan was the best predictor in the final pace race of the 2016 season held on the Canyon Rim Trail off East Road (State Route # 502). She recorded a 4 second differential off her predicted time. Other accurate predictors were: Chris Michel and Bob Weeks tied at 9 seconds off, Nick Parra-Vasquez and Jesse Woodroffe also tied at a 22 second difference, Allison Chan at 32 seconds off, and Jackie Marr with a 33 second differential.

On the 1 mile course 8 year old Neal Sanders was the top runner with a time of 9:08. 9 year old Savanna Strother was the fastest female at 10:16.

Becky Chamberlin was the best 1.5 mile runner recording a 15:04. The fastest male was Brian Newnam with a time of 16:38.

On the 2.6 mile course Ryan Smeltzer came in at 18:09 for first place and the top female runner was Roxana Candia at 19:38.

The Club hopes everyone had an enjoyable season and will join us for the 2017 season which will begin on Tuesday, April 4th, 2017 at 6:00 PM at the Canyon Rim Trailhead across from the Co-operative Market off East Road (State Route # 502). Stay tuned for more specifics regarding the Annual CROP Walk/Turkey Trot to be held on Sunday, November 20th, 2016 at 2:00 PM at the Middle School.

CHAN AND GATTIKER TIE FOR TOP PREDICTOR IN WEEKLY PACE RACE

(9-27-2016)

Allison Chan and Katie Gattiker were 16 seconds off their predicted time in the weekly pace race held on the Power line Trail off State Route # 4 in the White Rock area. Other accurate predictors were: Roxana Candia and Jesse Woodroffe with a 20 second differential. Candia was also the best female finisher on the the 3 mile course with a time of 23:20. Laura Woodroffe and Zach Medin also had accurate predictions at 21 seconds off.

Becky Chamberlin was the top finisher on the 1 mile course recording a 9:59 and Brian Newnam was the first male finisher at 10:50.

On the 3 mile course Ryan Smeltzer finished first with a time of 21:40.

Next week's race will be the final one of the season and will be held on Tuesday, October 4th, 2016 at 6:00 PM on the Canyon Rim Trail beginning at the trailhead off East Road (State Route #502) across the road from the Co-operative Market. 1, 1.5, and 2.6 mile paved distances will be available.

HUGHES AND McCLELLAN TIE FOR TOP PREDICTOR IN WEEKLY PACE RACE

For Tuesday's pace race, Laura McClellan and Heather Hughes predicted well and were only 6 seconds off for their predictions, adjusted to 3 miles, at Tuesday's pace race. Chris Michel was 8 seconds off and Laura Woodroffe was 10 seconds off.

There were 27 people who competed in the weekly Tuesday pace race in nice weather. The course was a fairly-flat 1-mile paved-loop mainly on Estante Way in Pajarito Acres. One could run any number of loops but with a requested time of 45 minutes or less. All distances from 1 to 6 miles were done.

The fastest for 1 mile were Billy Strother (10:40), Anders Medin (10:41), and Zach Medin (10:42). For 2 miles, the fastest were Sonja Behnke did 20:48 and Brian Newman did 23:02. The faster 3 milers were Roxana Candia (21:31) and Chris Michel (29:52). For 4 miles, David Kratzer did 39:18, Mark Bjorklund did 39:42, and Katie Gattiker did 43:14. For 5 miles, Ted Romero did 39:14 and Jesse Woodroffe did 40:30. For 6 miles, Laura Woodroffe did 45:19 and Tad Hughes did 47:43.

The best differences between actual and predicted times in seconds, adjusted to 3 miles, were Bob Weeks (66) and Jackie Marr (108) for 1 mile, Heather Hughes (6) and Brian Newman (273) for 2 miles, Chris Michel (8) and Roxana Candia (51) for 3 miles, Laura McClellan (6) and David Kratzer (32) for 4 miles, Ted Romero (28) for 5 miles, and Laura Woodroffe (10) for 6 miles.

Next Tuesday's Pace Race on September 27th, 2016 will be the "Power Line run" and will start 3.2 miles West of the State Route # 4 and Pajarito Road light in White Rock on the left right off Route # 4. 1 and 3 mile trail courses will be available.

JACKSON IS TOP PREDICTOR IN WEEKLY PACE RACE

Aaron Jackson was the best predictor in the weekly pace race held near the end of San Ildefonso Road on North Mesa with a 5 second differential off his predicted time. Other accurate predictors were: Roxana Candia at 6 seconds off as well as the best finisher on the 1 mile course at 6:32, Jackie Marr with a 18 second second difference, Duane Marr at 21 seconds off, and Nikol Strother recording a 37 second differential and the top female finisher on the 3 mile course with a time of 21:04.

T. Tainowsky was the best male finisher on the 1 mile course at 7:26.

On the 3 mile course Ryan Smeltzer was the top finisher with a time of 19:54.

Next week's race will be held on Tuesday, September 20th, 2016 at 6:00 PM and will start on the Estante Way loop in Pajarito Acres in White Rock. You can get there by taking a left on South Monte Rey Road off State Route # 4 West and then bearing right on Potrillo Road and then taking the second right of the Estante Way loop to the start of the race a tenth or so of a mile down the road. Runner's will utilize the 1 mile paved loop to run/walk 1 mile or as many miles that they prefer in a 45 minute or less time period.

RAIN DISRUPTS WEEKLY PACE RACE

(9-6-2016)

Fifteen dedicated runners and walkers showed up for Tuesday night's Pace race at the Barranca Mesa Elementary School. But since the rain did not let up, five folks decided not to take on the one and three mile courses. Ten others, most of whom were dressed for the rainy weather, took off and ran in the rain around Barranca Mesa Elementary School and down the horse trail into Bayo Canyon, to the point and back up Gonzales Road returning to the school. Though some runners were thoroughly drenched, they enjoyed the outing.

Next week's pace race will be held on Tuesday, September 13th, 2016 at 6:00 PM on North Mesa starting in front of 1287 San Ildefonso Road which is almost at the end of San Ildefonso Road. 1 and 3 mile paved courses will be available.

ELKINS IS BEST PREDICTOR IN WEEKLY PACE RACE

Paul Elkins was the top predictor in the weekly pace race held in White Rock starting at the Pinon Elementary School at 12 seconds off his predicted time. Other accurate predictors were: Chris Michel and Ted Williams both with a 16 second differential, Sarah Wallstrom at 27 seconds off, Zach Medin with a 31 second difference as well as the fastest finisher in the 5K race at 23:46, and Laura Woodroffe recording a 36 second differential and also the top female in the 5K distance with a time of 25:16.

Nikol Strother was the best finisher in the 4K race at 17:05.

In the 1 mile run 7 year old Billy Strother was the top finisher with at time of 8:43 and Roxana Candia was the fastest female at 9:23.

Next week's race will be held on Tuesday, September 6th, 2016 at 6:00 PM at the Barranca Mesa Elementary School on Barranca Mesa. 1 mile paved and 3 mile hybrid courses will be available.

BJORKLUND AND WALLSTROM TIE FOR TOP PREDICTOR IN WEEKLY PACE RACE

(8-23-2016)

Lynn Bjorklund and Sarah Wallstrom tied for top predictor in the weekly pace race with a 33 second differential held off Canyon Road on the trail behind PEEC and the Aquatic Center. Other accurate predictors were: Duane Marr at 45 seconds off, Nikol Strother recording a 52 second difference, and Marjorie Keilers with a 60 second differential.

On the 1 mile course Nick Miller was the best finisher at 6:49 and Heather Hughes was the top female with a time of 11:25.

Ted Romero was first in the 5K race recording a 25:24 and Roxana Candia was the best female at 26:03.

Next week's race will be held on Tuesday, August 30th, 2016 at 6:00 PM starting at Pinon Elementary School on Grand Canyon Avenue in White Rock. 1 mile trail and 4K and 5K paved distances will be available.

MARR IS BEST PREDICTOR IN WEEKLY PACE RACE

(8-16-2016)

Jackie Marr was the top predictor at 3 seconds off her predicted time in the weekly pace race held on the Burnt Mesa Trail in the Bandelier National Monument off State Route # 4. Other accurate predictors were: Ted Romero with a 4 second differential, Katie Gattiker at 7 seconds off, Jan Velechovsky recording an 8 second difference, and Roxana Candia at 16 seconds off as well as the fastest female on the 3 mile course with a time of 23:16.

On the 3 mile course the best finisher was Ryan Smeltzer recording a 22:21.

7 year old William Strother was the top finisher on the 1 mile course at 10:18 and the best female finisher was his 8 year old sister Savanna Strother with a time of 11:03.

Next week's race will be held on Tuesday, August 23rd, 2016 at 6:00 PM near the junction of Canyon Road and 15th Street. 1 mile road and trail and 3 mile trail courses will be available.

BJORKLUND IS TOP PREDICTOR IN WEEKLY PACE RACE

Lynn Bjorklund was the top predictor in the weekly pace race held in White Rock at Pinon Park with a 9 second differential. Other accurate predictors were: Laura McClellan and Nikol Strother both at 34 seconds off as well as Nikol also being the fastest female finisher on the 3 mile course with a time of 20:17, Bob Weeks recording a 39 second difference, Pavel Semin at 40 seconds off, and Ryan Smeltzer the top finisher on the 3 mile course at 20:04 and a 56 second differential.

7 year old Billy Strother was the best finisher on the 1 mile course at 8:17 and Brie Medin was the best female with a time of 8:28.

Next week's race will be held Tuesday, August 16th, 2016 at 6:00 PM on the Burnt Mesa Trail in Bandelier National Monument approximately 3 miles South on State Route # 4 from the junction of State Route # 4 and State Route # 501 (West Mesa Road)/the Back Gate. 1 and 3 mile courses will be available.

CANDIA IS TOP PREDICTOR IN WEEKLY PACE RACE

Roxana Candia was the top predictor in the weekly pace race held on the trail behind the Aquatic Center with a 5 second error off her predicted time and was the fastest female on the 5K course at 26:05. Other accurate predictors were: Sanna Sevanto with a 8 second differential, Ryan Smeltzer at 28 seconds off as well as the top finisher in the 5K race with a time of 24:25, Burton Krohn recording a 36 second difference, and Sarah Wallstrom at 64 seconds off.

Blake Houde was the fastest finisher on the 1 mile course at 10:47 and Sue Elkins recorded a 13:11 for best female finisher.

Next week's race will be held at Pinon (Rocket) Park on Tuesday, August 9th, 2016 at 6:00 PM in White Rock on Sherwood Boulevard across from Smith's. 1 and 3 mile paved courses will be available.

BLAKE HOUDE HAS BEST PREDICTION IN WEEKLY PACE RACE

(7-26-2016)

Blake Houde was the best predictor with 18 seconds off his adjusted time. Other accurate predictors were: Ted Romero 30 seconds off and Georgia Pedicini and Joan Williams, both at 45 seconds off.

38 runners attempted the Barranca Mesa runs of 1 and 3 miles from the San Ildefonso Playlot in the shadow of rain clouds on street and trails.

Winners of the 1 mile course were David Adair, 8 minutes flat, and Savanna Strothers at 14:22. 3 mile winners were Ryan Smeltzer at 22:22 and Nikol Strother at 23:02.

Next week's pace race will be held on Tuesday, August 2nd, 2016 at 6:00 PM at the Walkup Aquatic Center with 1 mile street and trail runs and 3 mile trail race offered.

VANCE HAS PERFECT PREDICTION IN WEEKLY PACE RACE

Linda Vance had a perfect prediction and was the fastest female finisher on the 1 mile course recording a time of 10:00 in the weekly pace race held at East Park. Other accurate predictors were: Lynn Bjorklund with a 2 second error, Lyle Cunningham at 4 seconds off, Paul Pacque with a 14 second differential, and Nikol Strother and Sanna Sevanto tying at 17 seconds off. Nikol was also the top finisher in the 5K race with a time 22:23.

In the 1 mile race 7 year old Billy Strother was the best finisher at 9:03.

Philip Graybill was the best 5K male finisher recording a 23:04.

Next week's race will be held on Tuesday, July 26th, 2016 at 6:00 PM on Barranca Mesa starting at the play lot at the junction of San Ildefonso Road, Barranca Road, and Rendija Canyon Road. 1 and 3 mile courses will be available.

SMELTZER IS TOP PREDICTOR AND BEST FINISHER IN 5K RACE

Ryan Smeltzer was the top predictor at 7 seconds off as well as the best finisher in the 5K distance with a time of 24:41 in the weekly pace race held in Walnut Canyon. Other accurate predictors were Mark Bjorklund with a 21 second differential, Heidi Bjorklund right behind him at 22 seconds, Wendee Brunish at 36 seconds off, and Sanna Sevanto recording a 56 second difference and also the top female finisher in the 5K race at 25:19.

In the 1 mile race Muira Mowrer was the best finisher with a time of 10:16 and 6 year old Anders Medin was the top male recording a 11:12.

Next week's race will be held on Tuesday, July 19th, 2016 at 6:00 PM in East Park off East Road (NM State Route # 502) next to the Animal Shelter. Paved 1 mile and 5K distances will be available.

CANDIA IS TOP PREDICTOR IN WEEKLY PACE RACE

Roxana Candia was the top predictor in the weekly pace race held on American Springs Road in the Jemez with a 1 second error off her prediction. Other accurate predictors were Marjorie Keilers at 6 seconds off, Laura Woodroffe with a 9 second differential as well as the best finisher on the 3 mile course at 22:38, Zachary Medin at 10 seconds off and the first male on the 3 mile course with a time of 23:05, and Esther Wermer recording a 18 second difference.

On the 1 mile course 7 year old William Strother was the top finisher at 10:12 and the best female was Nikol Strother with a time of 10:45.

Next week's race will be held on Tuesday, July 12th, 2016 at 6:00 PM on the Walnut Canyon Trail by taking an immediate right at the Diamond Drive traffic circle on to San Ildefonso Road on North Mesa with the start just to the right. 1 and 3 mile courses will be available.

STROTHER HAS PERFECT PREDICTION IN WEEKLY PACE RACE

Nikol Strother had a perfect prediction in the weekly pace race held on the Perimeter Trail in the Northern section of town. Her time of 24:49 was also the top time for a female finisher on the 3 mile course. Other accurate predictors were: Lynn Bjorklund at 13 seconds off, Mary Snow with a 15 second differential, David Kratzer recording 33 seconds off, and Chris Michel at a 43 second difference.

Susan Hanz was the fastest finisher on the 1 mile course with a 7:41. The best male was 12 year old Erik Leonard recording a 8:25.

On the 3 mile course Ryan Smeltzer was the top finisher at 24:42.

Next week's race will be held on Tuesday, July 5th,2016 at 6:00 PM on American Springs Road in the Jemez which is approximately 1.5 miles from the "Back gate" which is the junction of State Routes # 4 and # 501 and going up Route # 4 West up in the Jemez. One and three mile courses will be available.

CANDIA AND STROTHER ARE BEST PREDICTORS IN WEEKLY PACE RACE

Roxana Candia and William Strother had the best predictions in Tuesday's pace race, with delta times adjusted to 3 miles of 2 and 33 seconds.

The weekly pace race was done on hot and dusty trails off Estante Way to the Estante Overlook and in Potrillo Canyon. There were 29 people participating.

The best predictors (and the actual time in seconds that they were off their prediction) for the 1 mile were William Strother (11), Ted Romero (18), Anders Medin (31), Adrian Medin (38), and Aurea Rojas (45). For the 3 mile course, the best predictors were Roxana Candia (2), David Kratzer (27), and Lynn Bjorklund (45).

Next Tuesday's Pace Race on June 28th, 2016 will be on the Mitchell Trail and will start near the trailhead by the playground near the corner of 45th St. and Arizona St. off Alabama Ave. which is off Diamond Drive.

WOODROFFE IS TOP PREDICTOR IN WEEKLY PACE RACE

Laura Woodroffe was the top predictor in the weekly pace race held out on West Jemez Road (NM Route # 501) with a 3 second differential from her prediction. Other accurate predictors were Chris Michel at 5 seconds off, Roxana Candia with a 21 second difference and the fastest female on the 3 mile road course at 23:24, Sanna Sevanto recording a 22 second differential as well as the top finisher on the 3 mile trail course with a time of 25:52, Zachary Medin at 28 seconds off and the best time on the 3 mile road course recording a 23:22, and 7 year old William Strother at 33 seconds off his predicted time and also the top finisher on the 1 mile road course at 8:53.

The best female on the 1 mile road course was 8 year old Savanna Strother with a time of 10:46.

On the 1 mile trail course 7 year old Kevin Petersen was first at 13:46 and his mother Kimberly Petersen was the top female finisher at 13:54.

Ryan Smeltzer was the first male finisher on the 3 mile trail course recording a 25:53.

Next week's race will be held on Tuesday, June 21st, 2016 at 6:00 PM on the overlook trail between # 425 and # 427 Estante Way in Pajarito Acres in White Rock. 1 and 3 mile courses will be available.

STROTHER IS TOP PREDICTOR IN WEEKLY PACE RACE

(6-7-2016)

Despite a late afternoon thunderstorm, eighteen runners and walkers enjoyed a warm evening for the one, two, three and four mile pace race courses on Barranca Mesa. All finishers were treated to cool watermelon.

In the one mile course around Navajo, Los Pueblos and Barranca Roads, Savanna Strother had the best prediction, only 11 seconds off her prediction for an adjusted delta of 33 seconds off. She was also the first female finisher. The first male finisher was Savanna's brother William with a time of 9:05.Joan Williams had a adjusted delta time of 60 seconds off.

In the three mile road course around Navajo, down almost to the end of Los Pueblos and back around Barranca Road, Beth Davenport had the best prediction of 135 seconds off of her prediction.

The two mile trail course went out on to the Deer Trap Mesa trail, taking the north folk for an out and back run (or hike) and the 4.12 mile course followed the loop trail Craig Martin and the Youth Conservation Corps established. The tips of three mesas were reached for some great views. Numerous blooming yucca plants encouraged the runners along the trail as did many yellow cactus and Indian paintbrush. Mark Bjorklund was the best predictor at 49 seconds off his prediction, followed by Eric Anderson at 86 seconds off and Zach Medlin at 100 seconds off. Eric Anderson was the first male finisher on the 4.12 mile course and Sanna Savanto was the first female finisher.

Predictions were hard make on the trail runs and due to the late afternoon rain that washed away some of the direction markings, some runners took alternate paths.

Next Tuesday night's pace race on June 14th, 2016 begins at 6:00 pm across from LANL's S site on West Jemez Road (New Mexico 501) just past the water towers on the right about a mile before the back gate. One and three mile trail and road courses will be available.

ROMERO IS BEST PREDICTOR IN WEEKLY PACE RACE

(5-31-2016)

Ted Romero was the top predictor in the weekly pace race held on the Canada Bonito Trial up by the ski area. He had a 38 second differential from his predicted time and he was also the fastest finisher on the 3 mile course with a time of 25:14. Other accurate predictors were Aurea Rojas at 42 seconds off as well as the top female on the 3 mile course recording a 29:12, Zach Medin was 45 seconds off his predicted time, Anna Wermer recorded a 49 seconds difference, and Lauraine Maness was 72 seconds off.

In the 1 mile run 6 year old Diego Leonard was first with a 11:57 and Roxana Candia was the best female at 12:35.

7 year old William Strother had the best time in the 2 mile distance with a 20:44 and his 8 year old sister Savanna was the top female recording a 20:49.

Next week's race will be the Deer Trap Mesa Run on Barranca Mesa on Tuesday, June 7th, 2016 at 6:00 PM. 2 and 4 mile trail distances will be available on the Mesa and 1 and 3 miles courses will be available on the street.

DAVENPORT IS TOP PREDICTOR IN WEEKLY PACE RACE

Beth Davenport was the top predictor in the weekly pace race held on the Canada Del Buey trail in White Rock. She was 3 seconds off her predicted time. Other accurate predictors were Heidi Bjorklund and Zach Medin tied at 4 seconds off, Nikol Strother with a 5 second differential as well as the fastest female on the 3 mile course recording a 21:38, and Ted Romero with a 9 second error and also the best finisher on the 3 mile course with a 20:57.

On the 1 mile course 6 year old Anders Medin recorded a 10:17 for the top time and his mother Roxana Candia was the first female at 10:19.

Next week's race will be held on Tuesday, May 31st, 2016 at 6:00 PM up on the ski hill area just past the ski lodge at the Canada Bonito Trailhead. 1, 2, and 3 mile courses will be available.

MEDIN IS TOP PREDICTOR IN WEEKLY PACE RACE

Four members of the same family were the top predictors in the weekly pace race held at the North Mesa picnic grounds. Zachary Medin was the best predictor with a 1 second error off his predicted time, followed by his wife Roxana Candia with a 2 second differential. Her sister Pilar Candia recorded a 39 second difference and the father Felix Candia was 50 seconds off.

Mariela Saenz was the top finisher in the 1 mile run with a 7:07 and Brian Newnam recorded a 9:11 for best male.

In the 3 mile distance Ted Romero came in at 20:22 and the best female was Nikol Strother with a time of 20:56.

Next week's race will be held on the Canada Del Buey Trail in White Rock starting at 6:00 PM on Tuesday, May 24th, 2016. The start will be between Chamisa Elementary School and the playground just West of the School on Meadow Lane. 1 and 3 mile courses will be available.

MEDIN HAS PERFECT PREDICTION IN WEEKLY PACE RACE

5 year old Adrian Medin had a perfect prediction in the Pipeline Road "Gut-buster" race held in the Quemazon area. His finish in the of 15:30 in the 1 mile race was exact to his prediction. Other accurate predictors were his father Zachary Medin at 6 seconds off, Allison Chan with a 22 second differential, and Katie Gattiker at 48 seconds.

In the 1 mile race Paty Burnside was the top finisher with a time of 9:30 and the first male was 11 year old Jack Ammerman at 10:22.

Sanna Sevanto had the best time on the 3.2 mile course recording 29:41 and Tad Hughes was the best male with a 30:28.

Next week's race will be held on Tuesday, May 17th, 2016 at 6:00 PM and will start at the North Mesa picnic grounds. One and three mile courses will be available.

MEDIN AND HUGHES ARE TOP PREDICTORS FOR WEEKLY PACE RACE

Zachary Medin and Heather Hughes had the best predictions in Tuesday's pace race, with delta times adjusted to 3 miles of 2 and 3 seconds.

The annual "staggered start" pace race/fun-run was held Tuesday on the White Rock bike path with 32 people participating. The predictors with the slowest times started first from Pinon/Rocket Park. Starting last were the ones with the fastest times ( Grandmother and Grandson Aurea Rojas and Anders Medin for 1 mile, and Husband and wife Zachary Medin and Roxana Candia for 3 miles).

The best predictors (and the time in seconds that they were off their prediction) for the 1 mile were Heather Hughes (1) Jackie Marr (2), Duane Marr (3), and Brian Newman (6). For the 3 mile course, the best predictors were Zachary Medin (2), Roxana Candia (4), Mark Bjorklund (5), and Heidi Bjorklund (19).

Next Tuesday's Pace Race on Tuesday, May 10th, 2016 at 6:00 PM will be the "Pipeline Gut-buster" with runs of 1 and 3.2 miles. The start and finish will be at the Quemazon Montessori School on Esperanza Dr. in the Quemazon Development off North Road.

BJORKLUND IS TOP PREDICTOR IN WEEKLY PACE RACE

Mark Bjorklund was the top predictor in the weekly pace race held in the Western Area with a 18 second differential. Other accurate predictors were: Burton Krohn at 27 seconds off, and Allison Chan and Georgia Pedicini tying at 34 seconds.

On the 1 mile course Billy Strother was the first finisher at 9:47 and his sister Savanna Strother was the top female recording a 10:09.

Ryan Smeltzer had 25:54 for top finisher in the 3 mile race and Roxana Candia was the first female with a time of 27:56.

Next week's race will be held at 6:00 PM on Tuesday, May 3rd, 2016 at Pinon Park in White Rock on Sherwood Boulevard across from Smith's. It will be the "Staggered Start" race where participants will leave at different times depending on their predictions with the ultimate goal of everyone finishing together. 1 and 3 mile courses will be available.

CANDIA HAS PERFECT PREDICTION IN WEEKLY PACE RACE

Roxana Candia had a perfect prediction with a 24:00 time on the 3 mile course held on the trail on North Mesa by the horse stables. Other accurate predictors were Nick Parra-Vasquez with a 5 second differential, Brian Newnam at 9 seconds off, and Jesse Woodroffe with an 11 second difference.

The top finisher in on the 1 mile course was six year old Anders Medin at 10:50. The fastest female was his grandmother Aurea Rojas with a time of 10:52.

On the 3 mile course Ryan Smeltzer has the best time recording a 21:53 and the top female finisher Laura Woodroffe had a 22:59.

Next week's race on Tuesday, April 26th will be held in the Western area starting at 6:00 PM at the Sullivan Field high school football field parking lot. 1 and 3 mile courses will be available.

BJORKLUND IS TOP PREDICTOR IN WEEKLY PACE RACE

Heidi Bjorklund was only 5 seconds off her predicated time in the weekly pace race held on the pollution plant service road at the bottom of Main Hill. Other accurate predictors were Sonja Behnke and Allison Chan tying at 8 seconds off, Lyle Cunningham with a 15 second differential, and Roxana Candia at 25 seconds off her predicated time.

On the 1 mile distance Tamara Jurado was the top finisher at 9:51 and six year old Anders Medin was the first male with a time of 11:05.

The top 3 mile finishers were Zach Medin recording a 23:16 and his wife Roxana Candia at 23:35.

Next week's run will be held on Tuesday, April 19th, 2016 at 6:00 PM on North Mesa down the horse stables service road on the trail just North of the Brewer Rodeo Arena. 1 and 3 mile distances will be available.

SNOW IS THE TOP PREDICTOR IN THE OPENING RACE OF THE ATOMIC CITY ROAD RUNNERS 43RD SEASON

Mary Snow was only 7 seconds off her predicted time in the first pace race of the season held on the Canyon Rim Trail. Other accurate predictors were Duane Marr with an 18 second differential, Zach Medin at 28 seconds off, and Lynn Bjorklund recording a 31 second difference.

In the 1 mile race Tamara Jurado was the top finisher with a 10:30 time. Brothers Anders Medin at age six and Adrian Medin, age five recorded 13:47 and 14:14 respectively for best male finishers.

The 1 mile and a half had Brian Newnam recording a 16:27 for fastest finisher and Heather Hughes with a 18:57 for best female finisher.

On the 2 mile course Kyle Carr had a 22:54 for top finisher and Annika Cunningham indicated a 26:59 for first female.

Ted Romero had the best time in the 3 mile distance at 20:09 and the top woman was Laura Woodroffe recording a time of 20:59.

Next week's race will be held on Tuesday, the 12th of April at 6:00 PM on the access road to the pollution processing plant down Main Hill Road to the left just past the State Route # 4 junction to White Rock. 1 and 3 mile distances will be available.
