2015 CROP/TURKEY TROT RUN/WALK HELD AT THE MIDDLE SCHOOL THIS PAST SUNDAY

Approximately 190 participants ran/walked the 2.57 mile or 1.7 mile shortened variation of the longer course on Sunday, the 22nd of November, 2015. Turkeys and pumpkin pies were awarded via random drawing after the run/walk. All donations will be utilized by the CROP and LA Cares charitable organizations to help the needy.

THE BEST TIME PREDICTORS FOR THE 2015 PACE RACE SEASON

The best time predictors for the 2015 Atomic City Road Runners Club race season (the top 5 pedictors are recognized from their 10 best predictions where the delta time totals added up to the lowest amount in seconds as compared with all other Club members utilizing the same format. Delta time being the difference in seconds between the participant's stated predicted time for a run and the actual recorded time for that run. The winners were awarded cash prizes):

WOODROFFE IS TOP PREDICTOR AND BEST FEMALE 3 MILE FINISHER IN FINAL PACE RACE OF SEASON

Laura Woodroffe had a 5 second differential from her predicted time and had the best time for a female finisher in the 3 mile distance with a time of 20:55 on the Canyon Rim Trail in the final race of the 2015 season. Other accurate predictors were Roxana Candia, Isolina Viloria, and Valerio Pinchetti all 8 seconds off their predicted time. Pinchetti was also the fastest finisher on the 3 mile course recording a 18:52. Jesse Woodroffe was 14 seconds off followed by Lyle Cunningham with a 15 second difference and Ryan Smeltzer with 17 seconds.

There were distances of 1 mile, 1.5 miles, 2 miles, and 3 miles available.

In the 1 mile competition Lauraine Maness was the best finisher at 9:00 and 5 year old Diego Leonard was the first male with a time of 9:42. Jeanette Rondeau was tops in the 1.5 mile distance at 16:02 and Reid Rivenburg was the best male recording a 19:19. The 2 mile race had Isolina Viloria first at 18:15.

The 2016 season will start on Tuesday, April 5th at 6:00 PM on the Canyon Rim Trail. The Club will also co-sponsor the Annual CROP Turkey Trot which will be held on Sunday, November 22nd, 2015 at 2:00 PM at the Los Alamos Middle School. More detail on these stated events will be forthcoming in future E-mails accordingly. Club T shirts for the 2015 season will be delivered to members or members will be contacted accordingly sometime in the mid to late November, 2015 timeframe.

FAUBERT IS BEST PREDICTOR IN WEEKLY PACE RACE

Madeleine Faubert was the top predictor in the weekly pace race held on the Lower Water Canyon Trail off State Route # 4 near White Rock. She was 32 seconds off her predicted time. 5 year old Anders Medin recorded a 39 second differential and was also the fastest 1 mile runner with a time of 12:58. Other accurate predictors were Duane Marr at 42 seconds off and Sue Elkins and Felix Candia both at a 45 second difference.

On the 1 mile course 4 year old Adrian Medin was close behind his brother with a 14:44 and his grandmother Aurea Rojas was the fastest female at 14:45.

Valerio Pinchetti was the top runner on the 3 mile course recording a 21:39 and Sanna Sevanto was the first female finisher with a time of 24:56.

Next week's race will be the last one of the season and will be on Tuesday, October 6th, 2015 at 6:00 PM. It will be on the Canyon Rim Trail starting at the trailhead on East Road (State Route # 502) across from the Co-operative Market. A variety of distances will be available.

PARRA-VASQUEZ IS BEST PREDICTOR IN WEEKLY PACE RACE

Sixteen dedicated runners and walkers appeared in pouring rain Tuesday night to test their pace racing skills on the Original Turkey Trot course held on North Mesa and in Bayo Canyon. As they started the one and three mile courses, the rain ceased and pleasant running conditions prevailed.

The best predictor was Nicholas Parra-Vasquez with a two second error on the long course. Next best predictors were Inez Ross with an adjusted error of 39 seconds on the short course, and Rigo Chavez with a 55 second error on the long course.

Fastest female and male runners on the one mile course were Beth Davenport (11:28) and Anders Medin, (12:45). Fastest runner on the three mile course was Parra-Vasquez (24:44).

Next Tuesday's pace race on September 29th, 2015 will be held at 6:00 p.m. with one and three mile courses on a trail in Water Canyon in the White Rock area. The trailhead is on State Route # 4 West about 2.6 miles west of the Pajarito Road/State Route # 4 junction on the left side of the road headed towards Bandelier National Monument.

WEEKS HAS A PERFECT PREDICTION IN THE WEEKLY PACE RACE

Bob Weeks had a perfect prediction of 14:00 minutes on the 1 mile course in the weekly pace race held on the Powerline Trail off State Route # 4 in the White Rock area. Sue Elkins was right behind him with a 3 second differential. Other top predictors were Mark Bjorklund at 4 seconds off, Ted Romero 6 seconds from perfection and Laura Woodroffe recording a 12 second difference.

5 year old Anders Medin was tops on the 1 mile course with a time of 13:27 and his grandmother Aurea Rojas was the fastest female at 15:42.

On the 3 mile course the best finisher was Valerio Pinchetti recording a 20:20. The top female was Roxana Candia at 23:19. She was also one of the best predictors with a 11 second difference.

Next week's pace race will be held on Tuesday, September 22nd, 2015 at 6:00 PM starting at the North Mesa Picnic Grounds on North Mesa. 1 and 3 miles courses will be available with the 3 mile course being a combination trail/paved itinerary.

ROMERO IS BEST PREDICTOR IN WEEKLY PACE RACE

Ted Romero was 12 seconds off his predicted time in the weekly pace race held out on San Ildefonso Road and Big Rock Loop on North Mesa. Other top predictors were Tamryn Jones with a 23 second differential, 8 year old Jayson Jones at 24 seconds off, and Jackie Marr with a 27 second difference.

On the 1 mile course the top finisher was Alex Cunningham with a time of 11:12. The first male was 5 year old Anders Medin at 12:17 with his 4 year old brother Adrian just behind recording a 12:19.

The first finisher on the 3 mile course was Valerio Pinchetti coming in at 19:07. Laura Woodroffe was the best female with a time of 20:29.

Next week's race will be held on Tuesday, 9-15-2015 at 6:00 PM and will be at the Powerline Trail which is on State Route # 4 Westbound towards Bandelier National Monument approximately 3.1 miles from the State Route #4/Pajarito Road junction in White Rock.

WILLIAMS AND MARR TIE FOR TOP PREDICTOR IN "STAGGERED START" WEEKLY PACE RACE

Joan Williams and Duane Marr had the best predictions in Tuesday's pace race, with delta times adjusted to 3 miles of 15 seconds.

The annual staggered-start pace-race/fun-run was held Tuesday on the White Rock bike path. The predictors with the slowest times started first from Pinon/Rocket Park. Starting last were the ones with the fastest times (Jackie Marr and Brian Newnam for 1 mile, and Valerio Pinchetti, Ted Romero, Laura Woodroffe, and Nikol Strother for 3 miles).

The best predictors (and the time in seconds that they were off their prediction) for the 1 mile were Joan Williams (5 seconds) and Duane Marr (5 seconds). For the 3 mile course, the best predictors were Roxana Candia and Zachary Medin (23 seconds), David Kratzer (27 seconds), and Sanna Sevanto (33 seconds).

Next Tuesday's Pace Race on 9-8-2015 at 6:00 PM will be 1 and 3 mile paved courses on North Mesa near the end of San Ildefonso Road South. The start and finish will be on San Ildefonso Road approximately 1/2 mile past the Big Rock Loop/San Ildefonso Road intersection.

CANDIA IS BEST PREDICTOR IN WEEKLY PACE RACE

Roxana Candia was the top predictor with a 4 second error in the weekly pace race held out on State Route # 501 (West Jemez Road). Ryan Smeltzer was close behind at 7 seconds off followed by Jackie Peckham with a 9 second differential. Other noted predictors were Mark Bjorklund at 18 seconds off and Inez Ross recording a 27 second difference.

There were two separate races conducted. One a 1 and 3 mile course available on the paved road and the other a 1 and 3 mile distance on the hilly trail just off the road.

On the paved course 5 year old Anders Medin was the fastest 1 mile finisher with a 17:16 time and Inez Ross was the top female recording a 17:51. In the 3 mile distance Nikol Strother was first at 21:17 and the best male was Rigo Chavez with a 22:42 time.

On the trail course Brian Newnam was the best finisher in the 1 mile distance recording a 14:13. Valerio Pinchetti was the top finisher in the 3 mile course at 23:35 and Sanna Sevanto was the first female with a time of 25:56.

Next week's race will be held on Tuesday, 9-1-2015 at 6:00 PM at Pinon (Rocket) Park in White Rock on Sherwood Boulevard across from Smith's. The paved course will feature 1 and 3 mile distances and will be the annual "Staggered Start" run where runners will start based on their predictions, slower predictors will start sooner than faster predictors, and ideally everyone would finish at the same time if each participant is accurate with their predicted time.

MANESS IS TOP PREDICTOR IN WEEKLY PACE RACE

Perfect running weather greeted 32 runners and walkers for the Tuesday night New Pipeline Gutbuster pace race. The 1 and 3.2 mile courses were on steep terrain in the Quemazon and Pipeline Road areas.

All errors from predicted times to actual times were adjusted to a 3 mile distance. Several good predictions were made, all by those who ran the long course. The best predictor was Lauraine Maness with a 7 second error followed by Jesse Woodroffe, 9 seconds, Laura Woodroffe, 10 seconds, and Ryan Smeltzer, 11 seconds.

Fastest female and male on the 1 mile course were Mariela Saenz (10:53) and Jack Ammerman (11:26). Fastest male and female on the 3.2 mile course were Valerio Pinchetti (27:30) and Nikol Strother (28:05).

Next week's race on Tuesday, 8-25-2015 at 6:00 PM will start and finish across from LANL's TA-16 (S-Site) on State Route # 501 (West Jemez Road). One and three miles courses on trail and on pavement will be available.

SMELTZER IS BEST PREDICTOR IN WEEKLY PACE RACE

Ryan Smeltzer predicted very well and was only 5 seconds off for 4 miles at Tuesday's pace race. Georgia Pedicini was 11 seconds off for 2 miles, and Nikol Strother's delta time for 6 miles was 25 seconds.

There were 34 people who competed in the weekly Tuesday pace race in cool weather. The course was a fairly-flat 1-mile paved-loop mainly on Estante Way in Pajarito Acres.

One could run any number of loops but with a requested time of 45 minutes or less. All distances from 1 to 6 miles were done.

The fastest for 1 mile were Griffin Hubner (9:58) and Chloe Keilers (10:21). For 2 miles, Isolina Viloria did 17:54, and Jason Pieck did 20:55. The faster 3 milers were Rigo Chavez (21:35) and Monica Cook (26:00). For 4 miles, Ryan Smeltzer did 28:33 and Katie Gattiker did 45:55. For 5 miles, Mark Bjorklund did 39:21. For 6 miles, Nikol Strother did 42:14 and Ted Romero did 43:26.

The differences between predicted and actual times were adjusted by distance to 3 miles. The better predictors (with their distances in miles and adjusted delta times in seconds) were Ryan Smeltzer (4 miles, 4 seconds), Nikol Strother (6 miles, 13 seconds), Georgia Pedicini (2 miles, 17 seconds), Zach Leonard (3 miles, 20 seconds), Ted Romero (6 miles, 23 seconds), Nicholas Para-Vasquez (5 miles, 23 seconds), Bob Weeks (1 mile, 36 seconds), and Laura Woodroffe (6 miles, 45 seconds).

Next Tuesday's Pace Race will be the new 'Pipeline Gutbuster' and will start at the tot lot at the intersection of Quemazon and Brisa del Bosque and go up on paved roads. Part of the 3-mile run will be on dirt on Pipeline trail.

CANDIA IS TOP PREDICTOR IN WEEKLY PACE RACE

The best predictor was Roxana Candia , only 2 seconds off, and Mary Snow was so close with 3 seconds off, both running the 3 mile course. The next best predictor was Roy Cope with a 9 second adjusted time in the 1 mile race.

33 runners ran a paved course on top of Barranca Mesa for the Tuesday evening pace race.

The winners of the 1 mile were Bob Weeks, lst male, with a time of 13:55 and Georgia Pedicini, lst woman, with a time of 15:09.

The 3 mile had a very close finish as Nikol Strother, lst woman, had a time of 20:32, and Ted Romero, lst male had a time of 20:33.

Next week's race will be held on Tuesday 8-11-2015 at 6:00 PM on the Estante Way/Potrillo Drive 1 mile loop in Pajarito Acres in White Rock. Participants can walk or run 1 mile or as many loops as they prefer for up to a 45 minute time limit.

WOODROFFE IS BEST PREDICTOR IN WEEKLY RACE

Laura Woodroffe was the best predictor in the weekly pace race with a 3 second differential from her predicted time. The Lawrence E. Wangen Memorial Race was held on the trails behind the Aquatic Center and included a 1 mile paved course and 1 mile and 5K trail distances. Other top predictors included Zach Medin at 8 seconds off, Joan Williams recording a 12 second difference, and Bob Weeks at 15 seconds off his prediction.

In the 1 mile distances 11 year old Jason Pieck was first at 9:41 and 7 year old Savanna Strother was the top female with a time of 11:31.

Ted Romero was the best 5K finisher recording a 23:58 and Roxana Candia was the first female at 26:28.

Next week's pace race will be held on Tuesday, August 4, 2015 at 6:00 PM starting at the San Ildefonso Playlot at the junction of San Ildefonso and Barranca Roads on Barranca Mesa. 1 and 3 mile paved distances will be available.

MARR IS TOP PREDICTOR IN WEEKLY PACE RACE

Tuesday night's weather along the Satch Cowan/Quemazon Trails in the Western Area was ideal for use by mountain bikers, a flower identification group, and 37 walkers and runners competing in the weekly pace race. For the pace racers, a one mile course on pavement and sidewalk was available and one and three miles courses on the Satch Cowan and Quemazon Trails required challenging trail negotiation skills. Only three predictors on all courses managed to have errors of 75 seconds or less. Duane Marr had the best prediction (21 seconds), followed by Mark Bjorklund (49 seconds) and Joan Williams (75 seconds).

On the one mile course, Patricia Burnside was the fastest female (9:06) and Adrian Medin was the fastest male (14:55). On the 3 mile course, Ryan Smeltzer was the fastest male (30:03) and the fastest female was Emily Moore (35:25).

Next week's Roadrunner pace race will be held on Tuesday, July 28th, 2015 at 6:00 p.m. and will start and finish at the Aquatic Center parking lot on Canyon Road. One and three mile trail courses and a one mile paved course will be available.

CANDIA, MEDIN BROTHERS, AND WILLIAMS BEST PREDICTORS IN WEEKLY PACE RACE

Despite a slight, cooling rain, forty-five runners and walkers enjoyed a beautiful evening jaunt for one mile or three mile courses on Barranca Mesa and in Bayo Canyon.

Nine runners on the long course had predictions that were off by 30 seconds or less and Roxana Candia was the best predictor for the long course, on which runners ran around Barranca Mesa Elementary School and then down the horse trail into Bayo Canyon to the point and back Gonzales Road to Barranca School. She was off her prediction by just one second over the three miles. Ted Williams was the second best predictor at four seconds off and John Ullman was only 10 seconds off his prediction. Other runners whose predictions were 30 seconds or less off were Katie Gattiker and Jesse Woodroffe at 16 seconds off, Heidi Bjorklund at 24 seconds off, Nikol Strother at 25 seconds off, Zach Medin at 26 seconds off, and Richard Thompson III at 30 seconds.

On the short (one mile) course, Adrian and Anders Medin tied for three seconds off their predictions (normalized to the three mile course). Jacob Thompson was the next best predictor at 18 seconds off followed by Jennifer Reglien at 51 seconds off.

The one-mile course was fairly flat and fast so many runners came in well ahead of their predictions. Most of the three mile runners beat their predictions in spite of the steep switchback required to get out of the canyon back onto Barranca Mesa.

Congratulations to Inez Ross for getting a silver medal in her age group at the National Senior Olympics in the 5K race!

Next week's pace race begins Tuesday, July 21st, 2015 at 6:00 pm at the Quemazon Trailhead in the Western area. Go west on Trinity Drive from the Diamond Drive Trinity Drive intersection for .6 miles and turn left onto 48th then turn left on the service road to the trailhead. One and three mile courses will be offered on the Satch Cowan and Quemazon Trails and a one mile course will be offered on the pavement for runners with strollers.

PIECK IS TOP PREDICTOR AND FIRST PLACE FINISHER IN ONE MILE IN WEEKLY PACE RACE

8 year old Sophia Pieck was the top predictor at 6 seconds off her predicted time as well as the fastest finisher on the one mile course with a time of 9:02 in the weekly pace race held on the trail at the Ponderosa Campground in the Bandelier National Monument. Other accurate predictors were Katie Gattiker with a 7 second differential, Duane Marr at 15 seconds off, and Martin Pieck recording a 21 second difference.

The top male finisher in the one mile race was 6 year old Billy Strother with a 9:03.

Bob Weeks had a 31:59 for the two mile distance.

On the three mile course Zach Medin was the fastest finisher at 26:22 and Laura McClellan was the top female recording a time of 30:53.

Next week's pace race will be on Tuesday, 7-14-2015 at 6:00 PM at the Barranca Elementary School on Barranca Mesa. 1 and 3 mile courses will be available.

WILLIAMS IS BEST PREDICTOR IN WEEKLY PACE RACE

Joan Williams was the best predictor, only 9 seconds off adjusted, on the figure 8 course in Bayo and Rendija Canyons. It was a hot and dry evening, but 52 runners came out to try the course. On the 1 mile, we had a tie with Erik Leonard and Jason Pieck, who was 18 seconds off. Sophia Pieck was the lst woman for the 1 mile.

Ted Romero was the lst male on the 3 mile course with 29 seconds off. Laura Woodroffe was the lst woman on the 3 mile course.

Next week's pace race will be held on Tuesday, July 7th, 2015 at 6:00 PM and will be at the Ponderosa Campground which is just South, a left hand turn, at the Back Gate which is the junction of State Route # 501 ( West Jemez Road) and State Route # 4. 1 and 3 miles courses will be available.

PARRA-VASQUEZ IS TOP PREDICTOR IN WEEKLY PACE RACE

Nicholas Parra-Vasquez and Ted Romero were the best predictors in the 3-mile race, being 9 and 16 seconds off their predictions.

In the 1-mile race, Martin Pieck was 27 seconds and Bob Weeks was 29 seconds off their predictions.

Tuesday's pace race was held on trails to the Estante Overlook and in Potrillo Canyon.

The fastest runners for 1 mile were Jason Pieck (8:34) and Sophia Pieck (9:01).

For the 3-mile course, Katie Gattiker was 61 seconds off her prediction. The fastest runners for 3 miles were Ted Romero (21:46) and Laura Woodroffe (27:37).

Next Tuesday's Pace Race will start off North Mesa Road about 100 yards east of the roundabout which is at the junction of Diamond Drive and San Ildefonso Road on the road to the Posse Shack.

MARR IS BEST PREDICTOR IN WEEKLY PACE RACE

Thirty five runners and walkers enjoyed excellent weather for Tuesday night's pace race that started and ended at the Los Alamos County Ice Rink in Los Alamos Canyon. Duane Marr had an adjusted error of 3 seconds on the one mile course while Ryan Smeltzer had an error of 11 seconds on the 3 mile course. The only other prediction error under 25 seconds was Roy Cope's 21 seconds.

The fastest male and female runners on the one mile course were Jason Pieck (9:34) and Sophia Pieck (10:08). On the three mile course, the fastest runners were Ted Romero (21:47) and Nikol Strother (21:49).

Next week's pace race will be held on Tuesday, June 23rd starting at 6:00 PM on the Estante Overlook Trailhead off Estante Way in Pajarito Acres in White Rock. 1 and 3 mile courses will be available.

ROJAS IS TOP PREDICTOR IN WEEKLY PACE RACE

Aurea Rojas was the best predictor in the weekly pace race held on the Burnt Mesa Trail in Bandelier National Monument. She was 2 seconds off her predicted time. Other top predictors were Zach Medin with a 9 second differential, Mary Snow at 12 seconds off, and Heidi Bjorklund with a 22 second difference.

Joshua Moulton was the top finisher in the 1 mile distance recording a 9:42. The fastest female was Nikol Strother with a time of 13:19.

On the 2 mile course Jesse Woodroffe had the best time of 17:13 and Lucy Moulton was the top woman at 19:29.

Sanna Sevanto was first in the 3 mile at 23:12 and Mark Bjorklund was the best male with a time of 23:21.

Next week's race will start in Los Alamos Canyon below the Omega Bridge at the Ice Skating Rink on West Road on Tuesday, June 16th, 2015 at 6:00 PM. 1 and 3 mile paved courses will be available.

BURNSIDE BEST PREDICTOR IN WEEKLY PACE RACE

(6-2-2015)

In a great turnout, forty-eight runners and walkers enjoyed a warm dry evening for the one, two, three and four mile pace race courses on Barranca Mesa. All finishers were treated to cool watermelon.

In the one mile course around Navajo, Los Pueblos and Barranca Roads, Melina Burnside had the best prediction, only .45 seconds off her prediction for an adjusted delta of 1.35 seconds off. Sue Elkins was right behind her at 6 seconds off her prediction followed by Joan Williams, 12 seconds off, Billy Strother, 15 seconds off, and Ted Romero who was 18 seconds off of his prediction.

In the three mile road course around Navajo, down almost to the end of Los Pueblos and back around Barranca Road, Nikol Strother had the best prediction of 71 seconds off followed by Sam Crooks at 118 seconds off of his prediction.

The two mile trail course went out on to the Deer Trap Mesa trail, taking the south folk for an out and back run (or hike). Predictions were hard make on the trail runs. Jeanette Trujillo Rondeau was the best predictor at 130 seconds off her prediction. Inez Ross did two loops of the 1 mile paved course, in preparation for doing a 5K at the Senior Olympics, and was 94 seconds off of her prediction.

Twenty runners took on the challenge of the 4.12 mile Deer Trap Mesa loop trail that Craig Martin and the Youth Conservation Corps recently established. The tips of three mesas were reached for some great views. Numerous blooming yucca plants encouraged the runners along the trail as did some cactus and Indian paintbrush. Eric Anderson was the best predictor at 46 seconds off his prediction, followed by Ryan Smeltzer at 88 seconds off and Sanna Sevanto at 118 seconds off.

Next Tuesday night's pace race on 6-9-2015 begins at 6:00 pm at Burnt Mesa Trail on State Highway 4 on the right side of the road, a few miles South after turning left at the Back Gate which is at the junction of State Route # 501 (West Jemez Road) and State Route # 4.

JAYSON JONES IS TOP PREDICTOR IN WEEKLY PACE RACE

Pace race was very competitive Tuesday night held on the Canada del Buey trail in White Rock.

Jayson Jones was the best predictor on the one mile course with a adjusted error of 3.15 seconds. Second was Tamryn Jones with a prediction adjusted error of 4.26 seconds followed by Jackie Peckham with a adjusted error of 5.7 seconds.

Only .55 seconds separated first and second place on the three mile course. Nikol Strother was both the fastest runner on the three mile course with a time of 20:19.64 seconds and a prediction error of 7.64 seconds. Monica Cook was second best predictor error of 8.19 seconds followed Roxana Candia with an error of 9 seconds.

The June 2nd, 2015 pace race will begin at 6:00 pm at the corner of Barranca and Navajo Roads on Barranca Mesa. There will be one and three mile courses on pavement and two and four mile courses on the Deer Trap Mesa.

GATTIKER IS TOP PREDICTOR IN WEEKLY PACE RACE

Katie Gattiker was the top predictor in the weekly pace race held at East Park being only 3 seconds off her predicted time. She was followed by Sam Crooks and David Kratzer who tied at a 5 second differential. Aurea Rojas recorded 10 seconds off her estimated time.

On the 1 mile course Mariela Saenz was the best finisher at 10:25. The top male participant was Brian Newnam with a time of 10:48.

Ted Romero finished the 3 mile course with a first place time of 20:13 and Nikol Strother was the top female recording a 20:28.

Next week's race will be held on Tuesday, May 26th 2015 at 6:00 PM on the Canada del Buey Trail in White Rock. Start will be just West of Chamisa School at 205 Meadow Lane.

CANDIA IS TOP PREDICTOR IN WEEKLY PACE RACE

Roxana Candia was the top predictor for the weekly pace race held on the trail to Canada Bonito up by the Ski Hill with a 4 second differential. She was followed by Inez Ross and Joan Williams who were both 9 seconds off their predicted time.

Brother and sister Billy, six years old, and Savanna, seven years old, Strothers were the top finishers in the 1 mile course with 11:49 and 11:57 times recorded respectively.

On the 2 mile course Tamara Jurado was the fastest female at 26:03 and eight year old Jayson Jones was the first male with a time of 27:08.

Ted Romero had the best time on the 3 mile course at 24:12 and Sanna Sevanto was the top female recording a 25:56.

Next week's pace race will be held on Tuesday, 5-19-2015 at 6:00 PM and will start at East Park on East Road (State Route # 502). 1 and 3 mile courses will be available.

THE MARRS ARE BEST PREDICTORS FOR WEEKLY PACE RACE

Duane and Jackie Marr were the best predictors in the 1-mile race, being 0.3 seconds and 4 seconds off their predictions.

In the 2.8-mile race, Ted Romero was 8 seconds off and Roxana Candia was 10 seconds off.

Tuesday's pace race was held on paved roads in Pajarito Acres between rain showers and started on Acoma Lane.

Other good predictors for the 1-mile course (and the times that they were off their prediction) were Anders and Zachary Medin (both 9 seconds).

The fastest runners for 1 mile were Eddie Gartz (9:15) and Norah Gartz (9:16).

For the 2.8 mile course, other good predictors were Nicholas Parra-Vasquez (35 seconds), Ted Williams (45 seconds), and Heather Hughes (51 seconds).

The fastest runners for 2.8 miles were Ted Romero (18:21) and Laura Woodroffe (19:20).

Next Tuesday's Pace Race will be held on Tuesday, 5-12-2015 at 6:00 PM and will start up by the Ski Hill between the Pajarito Mountain Ski Lodge and Camp May at the beginning of the trail to Canada Bonito.

KRATZER IS TOP PREDICTOR IN WEEKLY PACE RACE

David Kratzer was 3 seconds off his predicted time in the weekly pace race held on American Springs Road up in the Jemez. Other accurate predictors included Nikol Strother recording 8 seconds off, Lyle Cunningham with a 10 second differential, 5 year old Anders Medin at 24 seconds off, and Lauraine Maness at 25 seconds.

On the 1 mile course the top finisher was Tad Hughes clocking a 9:05. The fastest female was Sue Elkins at 13:19.

Ted Romero finished the 3 mile course first in 21:33 with top female finisher Nikol Strother just behind with a time of 21:35.

Next week's race will be on Tuesday, May 5th, 2015 at 6:00 PM in Pajarito Acres in White Rock on Acoma Lane which is off South Monte Rey Drive and Potrillo Drive. 1 and 2.8 mile paved courses will be available.

WOODROFFE IS BEST PREDICTOR IN WEEKLY PACE RACE

Jesse Woodroffe had the top prediction in the weekly pace race held out on North Mesa by the Rodeo Arena. He was only 2 seconds off his predicted time. Lauraine Maness was next with a 3 second differential followed by Jessica Baumgaertel at 4 seconds off. Cecilia Rivenburgh and Ted Romero were both at 7 seconds.

In the 1 mile course Reid Rivenburgh was the first finisher at 9:56. The top female was Sue Elkins recording a 12:51.

Ted Romero was the top finisher in the 3 mile distance with a 20:33 and Nikol Strother finished first in the female category at 21:43.

Next week's race will be on Tuesday, 4-28-2015 at 6:00 PM and will be held on American Springs Road which is 1.5 miles from the Backgate at the junction of State Route # 4 and State Route # 501 (West Jemez Road) up in the Jemez on West State Route # 4. 1 and 3 mile courses will be available.

ROMERO HAS A PERFECT PREDICTION IN WEEKLY PACE RACE

Ted Romero had a perfect prediction in the weekly pace race held on the Waste Treatment Plant road in lower Bayo Canyon. His predicted time of 20:16 for the 3 mile distance was also the fastest time. There were three runners that had a 4 second differential and they were: David Kratzer, Laura McClellan, and Linda Vance. Sanna Sevanto was 5 seconds off.

In the 1 mile distance Maviela Saenz was the first with a time of 10:18 and six year old Billy Strother was the top male runner recording a 12:30.

The fastest female on the 3 mile course was Roxana Candia recording a 23:15.

Next week's race will be held on Tuesday, 4-21-2015 at 6:00 PM on North Mesa by the horse stable area on the North end of the Brewer Rodeo Area. 1 and 3 mile courses will be available.

KROHN IS TOP PREDICTOR IN 42ND SEASON OPENING PACE RACE

Burton Krohn was only 4 seconds off his predicted time in the opening season pace race held on the Canyon Rim Trail. Other accurate predictors were Ted Romero at 5 seconds off, Sue Elkins recording a 6 second error, and Nikol Strother with a 8 second differential.

Lauraine Maness was the fastest finisher on the 1 mile course with a time of 9:23. The top male was Paul Elkins recording a 14:26. On the 1.5 mile course Tad Hughes had a 9:54 and Linda Vance was the fastest female at 14:15. Ted Romero was issued a time of 19:37 on the 3 mile course and Nikol Strother recorded a 20:00 time for top female.

Next week's race will be held on Tuesday, April 14th, 2015 at 6:00 PM near the junction of State Route # 4 and State Route # 502 down Main Hill on the road to the County Waste Treatment Plant in lower Bayo Canyon. One and three mile courses will be available.
